Anyway, good basic guide for Cabal. Here are some pointers: it has two basic strats: Cavalry rush or Elven Archers. Some people make all Archers, but this is not the best because you will be owned by upgraded regular cavalry, or by Elven archers, both do more damage to you. As El_Jaco explains in his guide, the key to cavalry is using Theoden and Eomer. Getting Glorious Charge is a must; otherwise you will be overpowered by other factions? superior forces. Problem is, even Glorious Charge will not help you against Upgraded Isengard Pikemen or Trolls in game(Cabal gold).
And we hate chasing Gondor cavalry around the map. So, we go with all Elven Archers, which in our opinion is the best unit in the game. As you mention, they are very expensive, but they are worth it. We do not think they need to cost more, we think they are pretty balanced as is. Build Gimli as first hero after Merry; once he gets to level(Cabal Powerleveling) 5 and has Slayer, he is virtually unstoppable.
